From the previous OWW #10, it was discussed that we are in the Season of the End Times and that most of the major events that Christ spoke of over 2000 years ago have come into fruition. Now that we can affirm we are in the Times of the End, the only thing needed to be fulfilled would be the coming of the Son of Man and gathering His elect from the list in Matthew 24:29-31. Do you know what scripture says about His return?

For brevity’s sake, a compilation of a list will be easiest and most direct with the reference of the verse associated to it. The first point will discuss a few other key prophecy signs that were not included in last week’s edition. Please also note this is not in a chronological order, that these are based on scripture and not a particular religious sect of Christianity or their specific individual beliefs, and that not all will have referenced sources since some are easy enough to have witnessed or research. The lists are neither exhaustive or complete, but only enough is there to show proof of prophecies fulfilled.

Now that it looks like many major prophecies were laying the foundation for the Coming of the Son of Man, what should we be looking for?

Physical qualities of appearance of returning Messiah

    • Riding a White Horse
    • Called Faithful and True
    • Judging and making war
    • On His head many diadems
    • Had a name no one knew but himself (therefore it cannot be “Jesus” or “Yeshua”
    • Wearing a robe dipped in blood
    • His name would be “The Word of God”
    • On His robe and thigh would be written the name “King of kings and Lord of lords”
  2. Revelation 1:7 and Daniel 7:13
    • Appear on the clouds

  2. Matthew 24:42-44
    • As a thief in the night
  3. Matthew 24:27-28
    • Flash like lightening from East to West and the body would be where the Eagles gather

Where He Would Appear

  1. Acts 1:10-11
    • Near the base of the Mount of Olives

When Would He Appear

  1. Matthew 24:26
    • No one knows the day or hour except the Father

There are a few keys to knowing if the Messiah’s spirit returning would be accurate. Firstly we know from Matthew 24:23-26 that Yeshua said that if someone said “Oh look there is the Messiah” and there was a physical location someone could go shake his hand, clearly he would be a deceiver.

Then if someone will say to you,”Behold, The Messiah is here or there”,you should not believe. For false Messiahs will arise and Prophets of lies, and they will give great signs so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you beforehand. If therefore they will say to you, “Behold, he is in the desert”, you should not go out, or “Behold, he is in an inner room”, do not believe it.

Verse twenty-four goes on to say that even the ELECT would be deceived, so we must seek out our own beliefs to know they are true. If our own leaders could be deceived, how can be so sure that what has been passed on to each generation is absolute when no one can be absolutely sure with firm evidence?

Another common mistake many people forget that “salvation will draw NEAR” when these signs or the season is upon us, not IMMEDIATELY! The “end” does not just occur in the blink of an eye. The rapture was a concept that was developed within the last century, so do not get caught up in man-made fallacies of scripture. Things throughout scripture tell us that Christ is coming back with a “sword” and to “wage war”, so I doubt it will be a blissful painted picture unless every single person was to repent and acknowledge Him before it is too late.

Too many times we rely on others who are scholars or preachers to give us the truth without evidence. We must work out our “own salvation with fear and trembling” according to Philippians 2:12. What does that mean? That we have some work to do! It cannot be spoon fed to us! If we are lazy enough to be spoon fed we will miss His glorious coming because He said He would come back like a thief. Are you sure you haven’t missed anything important, like His spirit arriving?

Weekly Challenge:

Reflect and ask yourself if you have ever taken the time to go through scripture and acknowledge the precursors to the Coming of the Son of Man. Have you prayed and meditated on it? Ask yourself, have you seen evidence that corroborates these prophecies and fulfillment? Do you know the requirements of the long-awaited King’s return? Challenge to get yourself familiarized, because next week will be an eye-opener!
